These Arc Hubs Are 390g Combined!
#1
Building my 32H summer wheels and I am just amazed by the weight of these.

My rear 27.5" wheel on SunRingle Inferno 27's clocks in at 1075g!

I don't even mind the alloy freehub body—although they are notoriously complained about. I'll just be sure to get a backup.

Model number is MT006

before you rush out for a wheel tru stand you need to ask yourself will I be trueing rims with disc brakes, thru axles etc.. Not much beats a professional grade stand, but they cost. if you want cheap and want a disc truing option. check this one out

Thanks for that link! I am starting to do more wheel building on some early bikes, but I wanted to be prepared if I needed to do disc brake wheels for others also. It does state that it cannot be used for thru-axle designs.

Interesting note on these hubs. The maker decided to make the freehub body smaller than typical Shimano HG for 11 speed. I meansured an RS505 hub that I have and it appears the difference is inclusive to the 1mm spacer that you typically get with your Shimano HG cassettes in modern times. Running a Shimano cassette on these hubs requires no spacer.

More interesting still, I bought some 10 speed spacers and what was supposed to be cogs from AliExpress so that I could run 11-22 with graduation 11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-22. However, when I went to go slap it all on this hub, the stack wasn't flush with the hub. The spacers measured 2.3 and the cogs 1.5/1.6. I put the original cassette on with the original rear cluster and it was perfectly flush. It looks like it might have all fit on a typical Shimano hub, but without a spacer; and wouldn't that make it 11 speed spacing? I can't even imagine the shifting complications. So awkward.

I guess I'll just have to get a 11-23 Miche Primato instead.

Just wanted to add that it turns out for Shimano Road, you still do need to use the 1mm cassette spacer for these hubs.

It also looks like I could have used that custom cassette with no spacer. That still shakes me as odd.

And apparently, because this is a ratchet style cassette it just pops right off. It happened to me while adding the cassette spacer and it freaked me out. I had to look it up and it appears DT Swiss hubs are the same way. It's such a sus design—but whatever. Everything is in working order now.

Here's some pictures of the big boy toy.
