Help identifying date of manufacturing
#1
Hello new here & to vintage bicycles. My niece's great uncle fixed up this vintage Komet Super bicycle for her years ago.
We are interested in finding out the year of it?
What it may have looked like in original condition?
History of the company?
I've not had much luck researching it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

The "KOMET SUPER" is the brand of the coaster brake and hub (I believe it to be made by Fichtel and Sachs; German parts maker). I don't think it indicates any bike brand or model since that is a common hub used by many bike brands. That frame may have been made as a "unisex" design where the frame strut could be bolted up by the seat (boy's style), or down near the cranks (girl's style).
If you can find the serial # it might provide brand, year, and/or model info. My best guesses would be Schwinn (I doubt it), Murray, Huffy, etc. from mid 60's to mid 70's.

You should post your photos on RatRod bikes and The CABE. Those folks are quite knowledgeable regarding balloon tire style bikes.

It looks like the fork may be bent. I'm not sure if that is by design or damage.
