I'm confused :/ It's time to change the seat of my city bike (cracks, cracks and lots of kms) but I'm not sure ... I have one of those heavy, bulky seats with springs. Is this a typical choice for a low entry women's bike? Many of the options look swollen (hah, I couldn't help myself) and bulky. I want something lighter, but what are my options in the "comfort seat" category for women? Do these bulky seats really make difference in terms of comfort and softness? Thank youuuu )

A lot of it is personal preference. What you like may not be the same as others like.
I like a large seat, and find it more comfortable.
Is there any way you can try a seat before you buy it?
Some bike shops have a test trial program. I suppose most online purchases would allow for returns if you weren't satisfied.
I have found one saddle that has been a winner for me when putting it on bikes for others to ride, and that is Cloud 9 /C9. They make cruiser style saddles so it may depend on what you are looking for specifically. I have been installing the models with bushings for shock absorbers over the coil spring design.
I have used a Serfas saddle that was on a bike when I got it. It served well and has a more racing design (narrower), but had gel cushion at the sit bones areas.
