Risk Adhesive Bike Frame Cable Mounts Issue
#1
I had an issue today with the Risk adhesive frame mounted cable holsters. I purchased these from Ali-Express to fix some issues with my clunker's frame having awkward mounts that don't work well with caliper brakes. The clamps they come with are standard size for frame welded or integrated cable mounts. They are not contoured to the Risk adhesive mounts. Meaning, they are too big for a single cable, and don't hold the cable firmly to the mount when clipped up.

To fix this, I wrapped the clip with the electrical tape as the most elegant way I could think of to fill the gap.

Hope this helps anyone else who might have got these or were thinking about getting them.

time to break out the 3D printer! I think you still want movement as the are just guides and not stops

They are supposed to be firmly mounted so the cable doesn't rattle.

What brand and model of bicycle is this if I may ask?

GT Tempest (90's touring bike).

These clips are for integrated mounts. This picture is from my GT Aggressor 2018.

Do you see how elevated they are from the frame? They do hold the line firmly in place.
