My buddy has a thing for the Haro brand.
It was his first BMX bike and he has stuck with them ever since.

I think it’s the ease of it. I live in the city you can just jump on your bike after work go ride to a skatepark, mess around and chat it up with friends without have to load your bike up and drive to a location, plus it’s pretty cheap compared to buying DH bikes etc.

In my day it was being able to hoon up and down the canyon trails behind houses in Point Loma, San Diego. Not been back since about 1981 but when I look on Google Streetview now, it appears that the trails are all fenced off now. I has a sad.

I first got into BMX from games. They were really popular in '08, '09. I haven't bought a bmx, but back then I used to ride friends bikes and tried wheelies and stuff. Didn't go as planned and after a couple falls, I gave up on the idea. They are generally so lightweight and easy to handle compared to my MTB ventures.
