10-speed peugeot racer

well here is me (and mine) an old 10-speed peugeot racer (nothing fancy) that I have had for twenty years - it was second hand then. kudos to alex for making the maintenance so much simpler with his videos - can now do it myself rather than having to rely on friends.

Very nice bike. Presta Valves on the tires, cool. I always liked the old fashioned white walled tires too Smile . Seeing this type of bike always took me back in time when I was a kid, most of my friends had the 20" bikes. Made fun of me because they wanted to race off road. Then was more fun to race them on the road, of course i would win Tongue .
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Iggy,

Nice bike, and an exact replica of my road bike...now sadly in pieces....:-(

Bought it new in 1986.

Are those the original wheels....?

Mine are quite badly marked with rust spots, which I'm sure will clean up...but wondering if I could / should obtain aluminum replacements here in the UK....Really want o get it back on the road tar this spring....

Dougie.

Doug,
Alloy rims, compared against steal, will give superior braking especially in the wet.
You may be better off though getting complete new wheels unless you want to retain the original hubs?
