Free spirit headache

Hi Riders, ever find a good deal and then later, wonder if it really was?
I'm in that position right now, although I got it for cheap, the tires are flat and the motor doesn't run, that's right, it has a gas motor, I never heard that on a free spirit bicycle before and I didn't think it would be a hard go to try and find a mechanic to fix it but now I'm realizing it could be very tricky, if possible at all to get any parts it may need.
Sears, appearantly got these bikes in but the guy I got it from had no idea where to take it and it had been sitting for years!
Anyway, did my best Google searching and nothi g came up even with the serial number, I called the distributer who put me on to a bike place but not anything here in Canada where I could take it to.
Does anyone have any advice?

Call up some motorcycle shops and see if they have any knowledge on the motor.

If your local bike shops can't help, that will be your next best option.

Unfortunately, knowledge on this matter can be limited, and you could be SOL.

You'd have to remove the motor and upgrade it to a newer one or convert it to a manual drive.
