Thread size/diameter for fender eyelets

Is there a standard (or at least common) thread size and diameter for fender eyelets? I have old bikes for which there are no specs or OEM fender bolts, but a lot of fenders are sold with mounting hardware so I'm guessing they are all the same, no?

It would be nice to be able to pick them up at the hardware store... I like to support the LBS but they seem to act more inconvenienced than happy to help for small purchases (in some cases, certainly does not apply to all shops/employees).

You can get replacement parts for some fenders from your LBS, but they'll likely have to special order them. Are you able to upload a photo so we can help you track something down?

Thanks Alex I think I worded my post poorly though as I'm not looking for replacement parts for fenders; I'm just curious about the thread size and diameter for fender eyelets brazed onto forks and stays, near the dropouts. They look identical on every bike I've ever seen with eyelets, by eyeballing anyway, so it got me to wondering if they are standardized. My purpose isn't specifically for fenders, but for future hacks that might involve the eyelets... that and I'm just kind of geeky so I like to know these things.

All my bikes have 5mm threaded mudguard (fender) eyelets.

The bolts holes if I am right use a 10/32 tap. I use mine here to clean out the holes before I use any bolts to hold my fenders on. I hope we are talking about the bolts holes if not let me back out here. Just trying to help out a little.

10/32" is about 8mm... weird. By the way: Almost everything (except headsets and bearing balls) on bikes is metric. I am not sure but I think that also the "tpi" between metric and imperial threads of the same diameter are different. Maybe somebody can comment on that?
