Front fork upgrade
#1
Hi All

I have just obtained a couple of junk bikes. One was a fairly easy fix and will get painted later on and is being used by my youngest daughter. The second on is an old Falcon and has a threaded stem. However, I wanted to upgrade the bike to disc brakes and front forks. I read a post on this forum with some advice and pointing out the cost of the upgrade. The post is https://forums.bikeride.com/thread-3230.html

What I gleaned from that is that it is possible to purchase a quill stem adaptor to allow me to change the handlebars easier but will this help with upgrading the forks. Am I simply stuck with the forks I have please? Part of my reasoning is the simple desire to save a piece of kit that is perfectly functional and shouldn't be junked.

Thanks for any help.

Rich
