Wheel wobbling [Solved]
#1
Hello everyone.

I have a problem with my everyday hybrid/mountain bicycle. The rear wheel began to slightly move or wobble few weeks ago and ever since the situation gradually became worse and worse. Now it's gone until the point where I don't dare to bike anymore, there's too much wheel movement.

I understand that it's something to do with the hub and axle - feels loose and not stable as usual, moving up and down or not in sync with the wheel itself. My colleague told that it might be the wheel bearings and those should be replaced. How to approach this? I'm quite handy and would like to take care of this with my own hands, but I have no experience with fixing hubs or wheels whatsoever. Any personal experiences or a suitable video guide are welcome.

Thank you! Bob

Sounds like the axle is loose. you will need to buy a "cone" wrench/s to perform the task proper. replace the bearings and grease as needed. check this out as it may help. https://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/hub-overhaul-and-adjustment and be sure to check out this sites repair video section https://www.bikeride.com/overhaul-wheel-bearings/

I will kick-off the process.
