Cyclocross frame damage - replacement part unknown
#1
Hi,

Cyclocross bike was damaged. Frame is good, but a small component is bent and is removable. Don't know what this part is called. Does anyone know what this is?

Hello,

I assume that you have already found what that component is. In case it is still a mystery, you should be able to find it by such names:

- rear derailleur hanger
- dropout hanger
- rear mech hanger

These dropout hangers are actually made to protect the bike frame (and the drivetrain components) from further damage during crashes and other incidents, and they get bent and break relatively easily Wink I had similar experience with my urban bike couple years ago after crashing, and there should be no worries with replacing that hanger.
