My humble opinion is  the new procedure for posting pics removes the beat features of the previous software and is a big step backwards.

I agree, it is an unfortunate step back. I loved having attachment uploads built in. I spent almost a week trying to save it. I wish I could find a better solution. Upon upgrading the software there were two main reasons why that feature got lost...
  • Server bandwidth limits were being exceeded due to 7GB+ of images being viewed daily.
  • Attachments were saved in the database in encrypted hash formats that made upgrading a nightmare. That is the system that broke when I upgraded PHP on the server.

I'd rather get the forums back up and running than closed for months while I manually try to de-encrypt and re-import all the images. I am researching alternatives, like possibly using an external hosting service that can somehow be integrated with the forums for a seamless user experience.

My sincerest apologies.

I'll second that. It is a lot of hard work I suspect.
Too bad there are no bicycle manufacturer's who can step up to assist with the overhead.
Sometimes a paypal link for user donations can help some to cover some of Alex's costs (maybe there is one and I haven't noticed it?).
I know Alex's DVD's are well worth purchasing.  I bought the set a couple of weeks ago. The picture quality on a large computer screen is amazing and they are very well done.

help, I couldn't get an image to post from dropbox, using the new image icon wrapped in bb code.

While it "can" work, Dropbox is not the same as an image site.
I recommend imgur: http://imgur.com/
Clicking on an image will give several links, one of which is for forums.

That's a 2015 Chihuahua-Pug with all the extras.
She's grown up quite a lot since January. Now she thinks she's one of the big girls.
