Got caught in HUGE rain storm, what to do with the bike?

I went out this morning, and after getting some 8 or 9 miles from home, I was caught in a HUGE downpour. IT was so bad I could almost not see the road ahead of me. The side of the road was flooded, and I was going a fair speed, so a large plume of water was constantly splashing up onto my legs, and into the drive train.
When I got home, I wiped the bike down with a cloth, and got it as dry as I could. I did not touch the drive train.
Is there anything more I need to do? Could the amount of water I hurt the bike?
The bike is an 08 Kona Blast.

Interesting question. I ride all year round on my commuter (Giant CRX 1 Flatbar) and do nothing with her when she gets wet other than maybe wiping down the chain if I remember.
I would at least dry the chain. I haven't found the need to re-lube it after rain, but I do clean and lube my chain every 500 km in winter.

I didn't dry the chain because I wasn't sure how. Could I have done any damage to it?

You can easily dry the chain with a rag. Just hold the chain with the rag and slowly back pedal, running the chain through your hand. That should do the trick. Better to have the chain dry rather than wet and going rusty.

I commute to work just north of Seattle and ride in the rain all the time. Now I'm not riding through deep water all the time but my bike does get quite wet. I just make sure that I oil things about once a month, especially through the rainy season. No problems other than a busted chain so far, but it was 10 years old.
