Good afternoon,
I have an old mountain bike I want to do up. It has Shimano Altus RD-CT90 rear derailleur, controlled by a worn out ALTUS ST-CT90 shifter (7 speed) - which I want to replace.
My question is, what can I replace the shifter with? Will any 7 speed Shimano shifter do, or does it have to be the same as the original?
Many thanks

do you have 3 rings up front? check out the Shimano st-ef51 in the 7speed flavor. great replacement for the dollar
There are two kinds of people in the world, "Those who help themselves to people, and those who help people!"
In addition to almost any Shimano (certainly any reasonably price Shimano) shifters; you can also use SRAM MRX and TRX series.
