Miami sun rear axle problem?

Hello everyone, i have a older Miami sun tricycle & i'm trying to remove my rear wheel to get them true but ran into a problem removing the left rim because it doesn't have a nut on the end unlike the other side that does but rather it's tappered with like a round ring(maybe i have to break this ring off, looks like the only way, not sure) keeping it from coming out, i have removed the axle completely from the hosing with one rim still attached.
i would like to thank everyone in advance for their help.

Is there any way you could make that picture a little larger?
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Hey thanks alot for the quick response but i figured it out, the ring holding the rim on was pressed

You are welcome, is it going to be easy to put it back together? Just out of curiosity. I have an adult trike Schwinn Meridian and had to pull apart the back axle assembly, was actually fun Smile .
