Missing bolt in my brake handle
#1
Hi, I got a used bike, but there is a missing bolt in brake lever. If possible, I like to fix it myself. My one is road bike, SCHWINN-60639, and the missing bolt is for right brake lever, which is right part of the attached. Left one is good like the picture in left side of the attached.

What exact bolt do I need to fix it? And where can I buy it? I have no information on the bike; I'm very new here. Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks,

Those are believed to be called safety levers. ebay usually carries them. As for the hardware (the screw) that holds it in some seller on ebay may have them. I think this is what you need... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Safety-Brake-Lever-Repair-Kits-Qty-2-/261087017108?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc9ffb894
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

You know I tried to think of that name for almost 20 mins Nigel lol. For nastalgia or restoration purposes they are ok Wink. Now they sell smaller mt brake levers that fit with a spice adapter.

Yeh 10-4 to what Nigel said. They were offered on low grade bikes for beginners. Never worked well. IMO pull the screw on the other side and remove them like most do. Bike will look sleeker.
Never Give Up!!!
