Are there ways to add disc brakes to wheels that aren't set up for them? The wheels I have came off a Schwinn Excursion from a few years ago. I was able to use the front brake with a little adjusting because I used the fork from the schwinn. But I have no back brake as of now. There are no posts for the brakes, it's disc only. I have not done any serious riding yet but it doesn't look good.
As far as I know the only way to add brakes to a wheel set is to actually change out the hub. I'd imagine that is more involved than the answer you're looking for. I have no seen any adapters for hubs to hold discs. Anyone else seen anything?
did find this
but it will prob be cheaper to change the hubs

i believe it still requires a disc hub, and v-brake mounts, which he doesn't have. while it wont help him, im glad you posted this because im sure it will help others, maybe even me later on.
Get on your bad pedalscooter and ride!
Ok, I am a little more educated now, I am going to dial it back and start getting some components that are actually right for what I need.
