Bike identification

Firstly, I would like to say hello to the community. I've been browsing this web page for a day or two and I feel my further visits here will be just as pleasant as the first one Smile But on to the main point of this thread. A week ago I got my hands on an old Gary Fisher bike, aluminum frame, fork, and headset, shimano STX dereailleurs and DIA-COMPE brakes. The front wheel was destroyed and there was some rust here and there. Spent the whole day disassembling, re-greasing and assembling. I had to buy a new front wheel, fitted some old road tires and here is the bike that has been reborn.

Would really appreciate if someone could tell me approximately the year this bike was made. And if it is any good as a city bike?
p.s. sorry for the bad quality of the photos
p.p.s. sorry if my english is not that good, I'm foreign

Early rigid forked mountain bikes with a set of road tyres make great city bikes. If you look at most current hybrid/city bikes thats pretty much what they are.

Not sure about the year, as it has rigid forks, I'd guess early to mid nineties. However, if you ask here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/ someone should be able to tell you for sure.

Sorry I deleted my last post as I was wrong on my assumption. I was guessing around late 80's?
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

By the way welcome to the forums! Read your country history in brief on wikipedia. Pretty cool.

Thank you Bill, I'm proud to be lithuanian, and I'm very happy that someone takes some of their time to read about my country
