When releasing my rear brake lever, brake pads do not release from rim, what adjustments do I need to make? I've original dura ace brakes - 2002 Trek 5900

Try undoing the cable from the caliper. If they pop open then, it means you have a stuck cable. If they still stay closed, the caliper is gunked up or needs adjustment on the pivots.

10-4 to what Dave said........ And check the return spring on brakes, one side could have come loose or broke.

In addition to the above use a couple drops of triflow or the alike in the pivot arms.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
