Dumb Newbie Question - RE Securing Forks?
#1
Hi,

This may sound dumb and obvious but how do threadless forks actually stay secured to the frame without a thread?

If i am being really dumb please do not hesitate to tell me?

regards,

The fork is secured using the stem mount.
The headset bearing "pressure" is set by the top cap bolt.
Then the whole lot is secured with the stem bolts.

See:- http://bikeride.com/adjust-threadless-headset/
and this: http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=65
Ride hard or ride home alone!
