Rhoades Car (4 Wheel bicycle)
#1
Can anybody help me please? I recently purchased a used Rhoades Car Bike that I thought I would fix up. The problem is I'm missing a wheel/rim. I cannot find a 20" rim with a 3/4" bearing? ( the shaft the rim rides on is 3/4". ) The company charges a very expensive price for a new rim, and I was hoping to find a used one for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking at some of the recumbent manufacturer's web sites? That looks like the same wheel that they use on their bikes, although I am not sure of the bearing size.

How is it going with your Rhoades Car?

I recently bought a new modified Rhoades Car 4-seater and have had a litany of problems with it.

Among them:
  • Broken drive sprocket;
  • Broken frame connector;
  • Wheels folding under load;
  • Axle bearing failure.

Hopefully your experience has been better than mine.
