The is the infamous Empire State Bike as recently critiqued by the New York City Bike Snob (NYCBS blog, very humorous if you didn't read it.) It is a great bike, good geometry and fun to ride. I changed out the free wheel and added the fixed gear. I dropped it back a level to an 18t cog as the 16t put more stress on my knees than I wanted. I also put ultra gatorskins on for my 20 mile commute. Plan to change the handlebars to wings as well. Everything else is good enough for now.
