Bike Repair Help

Hey All

I am new to this forum and bike repairs. I have a classic bike that i am trying to restore. Its full of rust around the mud guard, peds. I was able to get some rust off by sanding it down, then applying WD-40 to the sandpaper. I bought some Brasso will that help to shine it up and and get rid of any access rust? The back wheel is wobbly - i called the bike shop and they suggested that it needs tighten. When I try to ride the bike - its not a smooth ride - its wobbly. I will be also spraying the frame t0 a Firey Red - its rust check spray paint, and would i have to replace the mud guard and pedals? they have rust on them or can i use the brasso?

Does anybody know what kind of bike this is and year?

Yes it does look like an older one, I can tell by the crank arms being cottered. My personal opinion is to take it down to the bare frame and get it sand blasted or use chemical remover to take off the paint.

What does the letters say on all the tubes out of interest. You definitely have a bike worth restoring.

The bike looks in fairly good cosmetic shape. The decals are good. I would clean it up, clean all the rusty parts as per Bills info and service wheel, crank and head bearings.

Some 0000 steel wool with a chrome polish ,I like flitz, semichrome and Mothers would do wonders on steel parts, for aluminum use brass steel wool from marine boat store.

Tune it up and ride it.
