Cool picture and awesome homebrew bicycle.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
Trying to figure out how you got those panniers on the front? Looks pretty cool and non-obstructive.
P.s. Looks like your little friend needs a bike to accompany ya!

The front pannier holders are made by Tubus and come with a 10 year guarantee. The panniers are made by Ortlieb and are 100% waterproof (they went through a stream once and everything inside stayed dry!). I've had them for about 8 years. You'll find them in Google.
I always use the front panniers before hooking on the rear ones, as unlike just rear ones, the bike stability is better. You know how it is - put weight on the back of the bike and the front wheel goes all light. I go up to about 20kg on the front.
For the little man - Yep, you are right. We are trying to help these guys out with some cheap bicycles. ;-)
You know what, I think there is a program where a certain non-profit organization makes bamboo bikes and ships them to unfortunate companies. I will look that up! B-I-N-G-O ...... Here ya go, I really did not read too much on it but it would be worthwhile to check out so those kids would have something to ride. Although bamboo I have heard they are daggon durable. Here is the link.....
http://www.bamboobike.org/Home.html also don't know what the supplies are like there but here is a link that shows ya how to make your own ....
