Where is the best place to buy bike parts & tools online, price, service, shipping charges, etc?

Thanks

Hi Tim,

I haven't tried a lot of places yet, but found Amazon will often have the best prices among the small group I check. Amazon's free shipping program is usually what makes the difference. I wish they had more choices though. When I can't find it on Amazon I often check Jensen, http://www.jensonusa.com/ or Nashbar, http://www.nashbar.com/ and eBay is okay for some stuff too.

And of course, when I have to match something up carefully I fall back on my favorite LBS or local hardware store.

I was going to say craigslist.org but after seeing the news the other day I really do not think I will be shopping there anymore Sad . When they change something to make it safer then I may go back.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Don't forget eBay. I second the Pricepoint.com nomination. Some people have bashed their customer service when there is a problem, but I've never had an issue (yet). They have really low prices, and they have so many things available because it seems as if they are a "middle man" for a lot of companies and have things drop shipped to you. I got a great deal just last month on a brand new 2009 Rock Shox SID TEAM front fork from them. Saved over $250 compared to other places online for it.

I really have begun to like Universal Cycles online too. they will price match or beat other prices you find on other sites. They ship ultra fast and have 2 different warehouses on each end of the U.S. for quick shipping & great customer service.

I have used:
http://www.amazon.com/
http://www.bikepartsusa.com/
http://www.rei.com/ - actually in REI's case, I checked the prices online, and went to the local store.

Google Shopping is a great place to find a particular part or type of part. If you need a crankset, for example...

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&tbm=shop&q=crankset&oq=crankset&gs_l=products-cc.3..0l3.4540.6376.0.6451.8.7.0.1.1.0.135.777.1j6.7.0...0.0...1ac.1.6HCGCqGMups

There are options to sort by price, brand, category, etc.

I am part of the team at http://www.squarebikes.com. We offer free shipping and try to compete on price on Google so our site should be a good option for you, depending on what exactly you are looking for. Honestly though, just use Google and pick the best deal you can find from a reputable store.

Regards,
Ryan

Hey Tim—
I have found that sites such as Worldwide Cyclery, Competitive Cyclist, and even REI have an array of bike parts. The Pro’s Closet and Sports Basement also have wide selection. Oftentimes you can google a part or part number and it will list all the websites that carry it. Amazon has some things, but it’s hit or miss. Also try the company site directly, such as WTB for saddles and tires. I have bought tires directly from WTB (Wilderness Trail Bikes).

eBay. You can find rare and old parts on this site. Ofcourse there are people looking for markups but you can find great deals on used parts.

I'm from the Philippines so if this website can deliver to a 3rd world country like mine it will definitely be able to deliver everywhere else.

Try Bikeinn.com

Awesome pricing and very very huge catalog

So true about eBay; you just have to know specifically if the component works with your gear set and whether the seller has described it with all the correct details for identification. Sometimes people sell things just to make money and they have no true knowledge of what the item fits and whether it has issues…
