Correct bottom bracket for my banshee x..
#1
Howdy all!
this is my first post on here, hope you braniacs can help!

I'm building up a Carrera Banshee x,I read somewhere that the correct bb size was 68 x 113.It's all fitted and I've just put the chainset on but my chainline seems quite extreme.

I have the wheels and tyres off a GT Chucker and the 8 speed cassette that was on the hub.I decided to put a double chain set on the front with the intention of just using the inner ring for now and making the bike an 8 speed.

I have to put the chain on 6th gear to make the chainline pretty straight but I can't see it going on 1st gear without being quite an angle on the chain.

Have I got the wrong bb, the wrong chainset or the wrong hubs?

I can't seem to find the tech spec for the banshee x and as it had no bb on before I was not able to swap like for like. I have inc a pic to illustrate my problem.

Any help would be ace, I just wanna get out on it!

thanks peeps

I really do not know much about this bike but maybe this website can point you in the right direction if you email or call them. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_518253_langId_-1_categoryId_165499

Hope this helps,
Bill
