Hi everyone!
Just wanted to say a quick hello as a new member here. I'm a casual rider who’s been getting more into cycling over the past couple of years. Nothing competitive — mostly local trails, weekend rides, and a bit of commuting when the weather allows. I’m always looking to learn more about maintenance, gear, and new routes.
I joined the forum to connect with other riders, pick up tips, and maybe get a bit more serious about riding over time. Looking forward to the discussions and seeing what this community is all about!
Cheers, Jason!
Welcome to Bikeride Jason.
There are two kinds of people in the world, "Those who help themselves to people, and those who help people!"
Jason, welcome to Bikeride!
Where are you based? I'm always curious to hear where fellow members are riding (what are the "weekend rides" or local trails). Perhaps we are in the same area, you never know.

I'm originally from New York, but currently living the Dutch biking dream in the Netherlands! The cycling infrastructure here is absolutely amazing compared to what we have back home. Currently exploring the famous LF-routes on weekends - just did the Waterliniepad last Sunday. Any chance you're familiar with Dutch cycling routes?
Welcome to Bikeride,
@JJMarsh !
Lucky you! I'm quite familiar with the Dutch cycling routes. Almost a decade ago, I spent two weeks cycling (leisure) in the Netherlands and covered approximately 500km. We bought used bikes online before the flight, landed in Schiphol and met the bike seller in Amsterdam city centre to receive the bikes. When the trip was done, a friend of mine took care of selling these bikes.
Amsterdam > Almere > Nijkerk > Arnhem > Nijmegen > Utrecht > Gouda > Kinderdijk > Rotterdam > the Hague > back to Amsterdam and lots of small towns and villages in between. Great memories & great cycling infrastructure! Witnessed a Giro d'Italia stage finish in Nijmegen
