Can't find a fork replacement
#1
Hello fellow bikers!

The issue I currently have is I bought a Nashbar 2000 ETS from Craigslist.  It looked to be in amazing shape however once I rode it more I realized the forks are bent.  So for weeks now I've been on a hunt scouring the interwebs for a new fork.  I really didn't think it would be this difficult but here I am.

Here are photos of what I'm working with.  I've been converting my measurements from inch to mm.  As you can see the distance from center of axle to bottom of crown is 14" (355mm), axle to center of brake mount hole is about 14 3/8" (365mm) and axle to crown race is 15 1/2" (393mm).  Wheel size is 27 1/4 and tire size is 32-630.  The tires are dry rotted and need to be replaced so I can certainly use a smaller diameter if need be or if suggested.

It seems most new forks I find online the measurements are significantly different than my current fork.

Can any of you help shed some light on this for me?

Thank you for all of your help,
Brandon

Contact Nashbar and ask them which of their many forks would fit this model bike. Otherwise take it to a bike shop and they can order one for you.

Thanks for your response George. Unfortunately Nashbar doesn't carry any forks for 27" wheels. I actually found a Sunlite fork that looks nearly identical to mine. It's about 1/4" shorter but I put a new Continental 27 1/8" tire on and it actually clears by about 1/8"! Made sure the brakes lined up and took it to a local shop to have the steerer tube cut to length and I'll be back in business. Picking it up today so once it's all back together I'll post a pic.
