Suspension type Seat post?
#1
Hey just wandering if the suspension seat posts are worth purchasing and what is the best?
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

I use the Cane Creek Thudbuster:

It's ugly and expensive, but works awesome. In combination with my Brooks B17 it's the ultimate in comfort. I only use it for touring, and take it off when commuting around town.

I find suspension seatposts are worth it. Since I do mainly bike trail riding, I bought a Cloud nine gel seat. Big difference. I ride a 09 Cannondale comfort bike.

The jury is still out for me. My commuter (12 miles each way, 27 x 1¼ tires) has one. My gray bike no longer has one, my project bike has one, and our tandem has one on the rear. They are no where near the quality, performance or cost of the Thudbuster. I find them more useful in rebound than compression.

With a full suspension or half suspension I usually go with the gel seat or memory foam. Road Bike is definitely nothing with any suspension.

I have a suspension seat post on my hybrid and I can't tell the difference when it is locked or when it is unlocked. The ride feels the same.
