Barefoot Shoes--- ON or OFF?

Hi, So this might be a little off topic than our usual discussions. But have any of you looked at barefoot shoes. Not specifically for cycling but have you or someone around you used for hiking or trailing. Since we have so many trail enthusiasts here.

I know a couple of guys who use (or at least used a couple years ago) Vivobarefoot shoes for running and trail running.
