Purchased this bicycle in 1996 for my then 11yr old daughter. After all these years its time toss in the stand to freshen her up. It has faired pretty well over the years, has not seen to many miles but none the less its time for some upgrades. She is much taller now so i will be adding taller handlebars, replacing the grip shifters with rapidfire trigger. upgrading the F/R derailluers to DeoreXT and of era, New lock-on grips, new brake pads, rim strips/tubes/tires. Also upgrading the pedals to Shimano platform pedals.
Full frame off is in order to clean/polish and lube. clean up some of the oxidized bits and pieces as usual. upped the tire size a couple mm. I will let her decide if she wants another seat or not. The focus is to be ridden mainly on pave and packed bike trails and just crusin around the hood with the kids.
Always loved the color of this bike, it will polish up nice. probably could use a new elastomer in the fork for a heavier rider but for now we will let her test ride when done to make that call or she can just use the lock out option for now
