Schwinn world Tourist single speed before/after
#1
Converted my old Schwinn to a single speed, ditching the front freewheel system and upgraded the brakes and tires. Also changed out the bars and seat. Super happy with how it turned out.

These older bikes are stronger than modern bikes. So you should have less parts fail.

The rims look like stainless steel rims. They are much stronger than aluminum rims.

I just put a stainless steel rim on the back of my 29 inch mountain bike, because the aluminum rim is not strong enough. I will post a new topic about this sometime soon.

Nice modification! Is your saddle comfortable (after an hour or more if you ride it that long per outing), and what make/model is it? Is it leather or "pleather"?

I think it's pretty comfortable. It's fake leather but for the price it's pretty nice. It's made by charge.
