How to Trick out your Recumbent Tadpole Trike for Safety
#1
This video has some good ideas for safety. There are some you would not use on a pedal bike, because they would add too much weight. You may be able to adapt some ideas to lighter weight alternatives.

All cyclist and especially bent and trike riders need to do 2 things to protect themselves. First they need to wear a helmet, and second they should fly a flag. Oh---------and wear bright colored shirts too. The reason for this is if they are in an accident, and it goes to court, they have to contend with the drivers lawyer. If you are not wearing a helmet or flying a flag, he will contend you are partly to blame for the accident. Doing those two things will take all the wind out of his sails on that.

I should have also added that on a Tadpole tike, you should always were clipless pedals so you foot cant slip off the pedals and be pulled under the cross bar.
