Manitou Minute 2 fork adjustment
#1
I just purchased a used 05 trek liquid 55 with a manitou minute 2 130mm fork. I need to know how to set it up properly for my weight. I'm a fairly good bike mechanic but have little to no experience with suspension systems. Which knobs on the fork control what functions? Right now the fork seems a little stiff for my taste and I think I'm looking for it to be a little softer and more forgiving. I'm 49 yrs old 150 lbs. I ride offroad trails but not balls-to-the-wall. I rarely get much air and don't care to. I'm looking for comfort. I looked on the manitou website but all manuals are for current forks. I'm fairly sure the fork is okay mechanically.

Bare with me as I am learning how the Suspension Systems on bikes work. I can tell you on the back shock If you loosen the spring nut it will give you more bounce, this you will have to experiment with by going in (turning counterclockwise) 1/2 increment turns. Tighten it (turning clockwise) and it will be a stiffer ride.
Now almost all forks that have adjuster dials (preload adjustment) only turn so far. I believe each side has one. If so try moving each one the same amount clockwise a little bit at a time until you get the desired effect. If you can not get the effect you want at this point I would go to your LBS (Local Bike Shop). Hope this helped.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
