1983 Raleigh Super Course 12-speed
#1
I have a 1983 Raleigh Super Course 12-speed bike. I'd like to replace certain parts and to 'clean up' certain other parts depending on how they have survived the passing of time. From 1983 until this past April, this bike has seen very limited use, so, much of it is in excellent condition. I though I'd start with tires and tubes, but even in that category, I'm a little confused. The tires show 27X1. I've read references to 27 X 1 1/4, 700c and ISO630. So ... I don't need the best ... just a good value tire and/or tube for a few miles a day around the neighbourhood. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated. Seamus

go with the 27in x 1 1/4in. these will be slightly wider than what you have. 700c are different. And yes you must have the same iso so if your tires say 630 that is what you need. And you will be fine. you can get them online or your Local bike shop. I would try them first. and toss in a couple new tubes and your good to go

Painkiller, thank you and apologies for not replying to your recommendation sooner. I have taken your advice and, while progress is slow, it is working out. I'm sticking to the 27 x 1 and 27 x 1 1/4 for tires and tubes.
