replacement chain
#1
Hi, I need to replace the chain and cassette on my 21 speed ATB. I have always replaced my chains with Sachs Sedis rather than Shimano Hyperglide, as the Sedis is far smoother, changes flawlessly, lasts ages etc. Time has move on since I last bought one 6 years ago and they seem to no longer exist! Can anyone recommend a replacement please? I have seen Sram chains online but they look like Hyperglides with the connecting pin, which I don't want. Thanks in advance guys.

By "connecting pin" do you mean the special "removable" link/"master" link?
👍for KMC, but the ones l have use their "missing link" in order to "break" the chain. I have had no issues with them. I just recently put a SRAM chain on an old 70s steel frame 5 speed rear and it helped the shifting performance while being utilized with very old shifting equipment.
Take care,
Jesper

Hi Yes connecting pin / master link. On the hyperglide chains they used to sit slightly proud if I remember rightly. Going to try the KMC chain though, as I had forgotten all about them. Have had one years ago and it was a really good chain. thanks

There are Sachs Sedis chains available on eBay and like sites; new and used. You need to be specific on size and minimum length.
Take care,
Jesper
