Commuter belt drive, disc brakes, internal hub.

So I've been looking at this bike:

Low maintenance commuter is the idea.

I ride year around all weathers in Sweden about 20k a day.

So at first I thought the bike had Alfine 8 gear hub. But it has Nexus 8. Alfine shifters though.

So I googled to find out what the difference is.

Some say Alfine is for disc brakes and nexus is for roller brakes. But the bike has nexus and disc brakes.

Some say Nexus and alfine shift "in different directions" ie one shift up on "pull" other on "push". So you would have to have the associated shifter. Well this bike has nexus hub and alfine shifter.

I've been reading that there are a premium line Nexus hub and a cheaper version. How do you see the difference and what is the difference between the premium Nexus 8 and the Alfine 8?

I think I can get the Kalkhoff bike for around 1100-1200 bucks but that still puts it above most nexus 8 bikes I can see online.

I bought my last bike a Focus Black Forest 29er like 6-7 years ago. Both Focus and Kalkhoff we're brands that gave you quite a lot for the money. Has that changed?
