700x35c tires
#1
Hey guys

I recently bought a bike off of Facebook 😅 I was doing some maintenance on the bike and I found out it’s a trek 7300 fx from 2005 I think. Frame isn’t bad but the rest can definitely use some upgrades. The tires that it has are 700x35c.. my question can I go bigger on tires with with the wheels it already has? I want to bigger tires only because I’m a bigger dude. If I can that’ll definitely be clutch. Thanks in advance!

35mm is plenty wide... That said, the width of the tyre you can get away with depends on the rim width (inside). Don't go over 1.5 times the width (rough rule of thumb). And a wide tyre would actually be more problematic on narrower rims. The likelihood for punctures (snake bites) increases a lot.
(Personal opinion, yaddayadda, but a point to consider)
