New Cranks and Bottom Brackets (Upgrades)

Hello friends. I've been trying to narrow down an issue I've been having with my bike and realized that my bottom bracket has a lot of play and is basically toast. Looking at the bottom bracket I have (Powerspline) and reading the reviews I've seen I think I need to swap this sucker out or I'll be doing it every year or so. I live in the PNW and ride long hard miles in all types of weather. Basically to get to it is I can decide on what cranks I want and then buy the correct BB according to shell size and all that. I'm asking if that is the correct order to find parts to complete a change, Thanks for your help, friends.

Yes, that is the way I'd do it: 1) cranks 2) bottom bracket. Do you have any BBs in mind?
