Trek Antelope 820 [Solved]
#1
Hello all,
I have a old Antelope 820 in nice condition that has a broken (right) shiftier (Shimano 200GS SIS 7 S). It appears that these old parts are not readily (or cheaply) available. Has anyone swapped out these shifters with a more current model without changing the derailer(s)? I don't want to spend alot as the bike isn't worth much I just have a hard time trashing it since is a nice bike (maybe for the kids). Thanks in advance for you help!

The shimano 7spd rapidfire shifters will be perfect for you. are the ones you have right now integrated with the brake levers or separate?

The shifters that are currently on the bike are not integrated - brake levers and shifters are separate. I Would like to install integrated if this isn't a big ordeal. Thanks for your time and wisdom!!!

If you have canti style brakes, you should stay with the levers you have and just order the shifter pods. The newer style integrated are probably meant for v-brakes and they have a different pull ratio. You had mentioned low cost, you may be able to update to v-brakes at more cost. Keeping it simple and cheaper these are the pods you need.
