Nothing happens when I pedal
#1
I was riding my bike yesterday, when I heard a like grinding pop from my rear rim and then my wheel would turn but when i went to peddle it was not going anywhere just spinning spinning free... kinda like when you freewheel it back wards... only this was forward... what happened and how do I trouble shoot and repair?

Hi Rodney,
It sounds like the pawls inside your freewheel or cassette body are worn. You'll likely have to replace them. Take your rear wheel off and check with your hand to see if the rear sprockets are still catching. They should spin counter-clockwise (with a clicking noise) but they shouldn't be able to turn clockwise (that's what makes your rear wheel turn forward).
Here's some videos on replacing these:<br />
