Investing in solid bike lock

Someone's grad school year started with this ... even tough such bike lock is intended for locking you bicycle for very short time (preventing 'ride away') or for areas with low theft risk, it still can happen like in this case - after more than five years of use. Think about your bike safety and invest, for example, in a good u-lock. In multiple year perspective those few tens of extra dollars will be worth it.

painful to see bikes locked with these "locks" that are clearly symbolic. although in some towns and villages with low crime rates it can work and you can get away with it for many months or years ....
