driveside threads showing/bottoming out on 1980 tubular wheel

so got this peugeot hle of my dad, as good as unused(all cups mint) with araya tubulars 32ish 1,8mm alloy(rim brakes ofc).
started working on em, allways got wobbly when releaving stress, kept truing/tensioning em, bang a spoke broke, i had twisted it off from the spoke bottoming out. looked around the wheel and almost all driveside spokes show loads of thread. how come?.

i guess the wheels are stock, i dished em, never got em over 105kgf.
iv ordered 20new 1,8mm spookes(15g?) that are 2mm shorter so i guess that will do the trick but why did this happen? were the wheels just crappy from the start? or should it not be centered when dished? iv learned that a wheel should be aboul to handle 100kgf with ease or else they would be unsafe

It can be hard to know what someone else may have done to the bicycle in the past. your best bet is to recalculate the spoke lengths for your rim and hub. Did you by chance compare the non drive side to the drive side to see if they were longer or not?. Check the dish by placing it back on the bike and check your clearance from the stays. Also just wondering if your rims are the same kind font and rear. Also might check that the rear triangle is true.
