New cartridge BB stiff

Just replaced my bb sealed unit. Taken it for a test ride and it seems really stiff any suggestions to cause. Doing a long charity bike ride Sunday and need to sort it before then

Any advice great fully received

Is it stiff with the chain off? what brand BB is it? If it is, bad bottom bracket, if not it could be to tight of an axle. If you remove the BB and it turns easy and smooth as glass and once it is installed it does not. still bad BB. One other worst case it may be that your BB shell on the frame needs shaved/faced.

Hi, the Bb is a truvative powerspline replaced it with same but new bb. Will try in morning for spin without chain on and update.
