Shimano TX35 Rear Derailleur
#1
I recently got a Shimano TX35 Rear Derailleur, but according to both my mechanics, I got the wrong one. It's the open hole/hanger style.

I have a GT, Nomad 2.0, and this is the same derailleur that's on there. I need a new one because my frame hanger snapped, and the derailleur itself bent in two differnt places.

I'm going to return the derailleur and get the regular/closed hole TX35 derailleur.
I've been looking everywhere for the two parts, the derailleur and frame hanger.
I've only been able to find the derailleur, and not the frame hanger, which is an important part to mount the derailleur itself.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a hanger that I need, or one that is compatible with this derailleur..

I'm going to get/need this one..

I currently have, and will return this one..

First; we need pictures of your bike and the affected area.

There are a very large number of frame hangers, the vast majority are brand specific. Try contacting GT: http://support.gtbicycles.com/access/unauthenticated

A snapped hanger is also an indication of potentially more damage......

Two versions of EXACTLY the same part. The GT takes the one that does not have the integral axle hanger.
If the frame hanger is snapped off I think it's part of the frame, not a screw on replaceable piece. Like he said, post pics

The hanger piece that broke is very identical to this..

I can't provide an image as I already took my bike to the shop, and they're fixing my cables and other damages. I have to go back soon with the new derailleur and the hanger piece.
The hanger is detachable and isn't wielded or anything to the frame. The derailleur is mounted on the hanger, that's mounted on the frame with a screw/nut.

"very identical" is meaningless - every hanger looks virtually identical from 3 feet (1m); but they are not interchangeable - the devil is in the details.

The mounting method is like this one..
