My 1968-69 Frejus Super Corsa
#1
Hello All

My name is Philo and I'm new to the forum. Here's my 1968-69 Frejus Super Corsa which I restored from a frame I bought from Norman Helman in the Bronx last summer. Norman used to race with Tom Avenia in East Harlem team where I grew up.

Thanks for your comments... I was going to repaint her with the italian racing colors and scheme which were Champagne on the frame ane Red and White Frejus decals, but many fellow riders said to keep her original. She's number two of the stable of 4 Frejus I now own, and rebuilding the last one now, a 1964 Tour De France in a Maroon color with silver grayess Decals.

I'm in the process of re-mounting the original Universal Mod 61 Brakes on this Super Corsa. They are expensive along with the Gran-Prix Bars and Stem, and there's an even more expensive Gran-prix Stem with Special engraved on the side post of the stem. I just saw a set at 240.00, and funny I got a nice set from the UK for 90.00 plus shipping, and I'm waiting to see if another set comes around.

This Frejus Super Corsa was sold to me by Norman Helman, a racer that was part of the Tom Avenia Racing team in East Harlem. I bought the frame without any components and restored her with all period components except for the brakes, even though you could have bought the bike with the Universal 68's or Super 68's Brakes which are side pull. Thanks for dropping by...

Thanks for the links... My Super corsa is registered at dale brown's Rendezvous site as is the first Frejus pro I first bought in the sixties, with the italian racing colors and scheme. They were champagne with the red and white decals as seen on Dale's site. They are pictures of my Super corsa as well. Will be sending three more to Dale's site for registration...
