Crank Puller
#1
[attachment=5324]Hello,

I have a Schwinn Gateway and need to know what type of crank puller to purchase? Would the park tool cwp-7 work with this crank?

You don't need a crank puller for this. This is a "one-piece" or "ashtabula" crank.
The nut visible on the outside should be unscrewed first. It probably has reverse threads (righty-loosely). Then there will be a large washer. Under that is the bearing race that also unscrews reverse. Then the crank can be removed from the frame. You will have to remove at least the left pedal to pull the crank completely out of the frame. Left pedal also has reverse threads.

Correct, should be evident there's no puller needed. That crank/BB requires no specialized tools at all, as long as you can get a good wrench to fit the pedal and put a long enough lever on it. The threads are referred to a "left-hand." and this type always has left-hand threads. Google "overhaul one-piece crank for guidance - parktool and Sheldonbrown links are generally the best, then check videos to see the procedure live.
