Gears problem

hi,
I am not able to change gears. when i try to change gears its making a horrible noise. Please someone help me out.

Need a little more info to help you. Flip your bike over so you can pedal and shift the gears while you're off the bike. When you move the shifter, it the derailleur moving? Is the chain jumping around? Where is the sound coming from? etc.
