Chainring for 2005 fuji captiva 7 speed
#1
I completely rebuilt the bottom bracket and repaced the crank on my 2005 captiva. I found out the 44t chain ring the no name crank I bought for it is the wrong size it is a 110/130 5 lug. Does anyone know the chain ring size ? Are all 5 bold lug patterns the same? Thank you for your time !

There are several different 5 bolt chain ring standards.

You'll have to measure it yourself.

Often it is cheaper to purchase an entirely new crankset (and FD & shifter & cables) than to replace one chainring......

Thanks for the help it looks like it is 130 BCD crank. My problem is the chain keeps slipping. The chain I have is really for a 10 speed but it is still too short. I seems like the teeth are spaced too far apart.

If you have a chain made for a 10 speed system (meaning 10 in the back), that might not work well with a 7 speed. The spacing between the teeth is the same, but the width of the chain is different. If by "10 speed" you mean a bike that has 5 in back and 2 up front, that also may not work well.

If the chain isn't lining up with the teeth on the chainring, very likely the chain is "stretched" (google "how to measure chain stretch")

Slipping under load is typically a sign that your chain and rear cogs are worn. But there can be other causes as well. See how badly your chain is stretched, if it's pretty bad, you may want to change it and the rear cogs first (and get a compatible chain.)
