Chain cutting wont work
#1
Hi All,

So I've bought a chain and it naturally needs shortening by 6 links. You'll see from the pics but basically it just crushed the link, fortunately I have another 4 attempts before the real thing.

Please offer any advice you can as to why this might not be working! Thanks

Take a look at theses instructions, it will help you, great way to learn trying on old chains or loose links

Always use a new connecting pin when installing 9 or 10 speed Shimano chain, never reuse the same rivet

Not sure what you mean by "crushed". Things look pretty much normal on your pictures.
